Liv Ajse is an award-winning graphic designer who is deeply engaged with the relationship between people – and humanity’s connection to nature and technology.

She has worked with editorial content for more than 25 years, particularly as part of the editorial teams at the two major Danish newspapers Politiken and Weekendavisen, where she has been deeply involved in journalism.

In addition, she has produced books, worked as a photographer, and created illustrations. All material on this website consists of work from various contexts combined with personal projects.

Liv Ajse approaches graphic design with a spirit of inquiry and playfulness, and she enjoys experimenting.

"I’m painfully aware that I don’t have a style," she says. "I’ve always been fascinated by and admired graphic designers with a distinct tone and style – but I’ve never had the discipline to work that way. When a new text or task comes along, from a new person, I find it much more interesting to look for a new tool that fits that specific content."

That mindset is clearly reflected in Liv Ajse’s work – along with a sense of uncompromising dedication, which is another one of her trademarks. When she has an idea, she commits herself fully to carrying the concept and thought process all the way through to the final detail.

"I like to think that, as a recipient, you can sense whether someone has put real care into something – and you naturally invest more time in something that another human being has also invested time in," she says.

Today, Liv Ajse runs her own independent workspace,
1-2-Punk.

This page is dedicated to walking. It's something Liv Ajse is very preoccupied with at the moment, as she is currently walking around Zealand with her partner.

Zealand is the largest island in Denmark.
